David Goch named AICC General Counsel, succeeds Paul Vishny

The Board of Directors of AICC – The Independent Packaging Association has named David P. Goch of Webster, Chamberlain & Bean, LLP, Washington, as AICC’s Secretary and General Counsel, succeeding Paul H. Vishny who is retiring at the end of 2014.  Vishny served AICC since the Association was founded in 1974.

Great Northern Paper owes $65 million, holds assets of $28.15 million, according to bankruptcy filings

BANGOR, ME, Oct. 3, 2014 (Bangor Daily News) -The company that owns the East Millinocket paper mill owes $65 million to its creditors but has just $28.15 million in assets, according to filings in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Delaware, Maryland.

Month-in-stats: US paper/board production in August down 2.9% from 2013

OAKLAND, CA, Oct. 3, 2014 (PPI Pulp & Paper Week) -August production ofpaperandboardby US mills mirrored July's production total. Per day tons produced averaged 220,870 in August, up slightly from July's 220,771 tons/day. August production totaled 6.8 million tons, down 2.9% vs August 2013 production.
