Pratt Industries officially opens $44 million corrugated box plant in Ohio, called ‘environmental showpiece’

CONYERS, GA, Sept. 10, 2014 (Press Release) -Pratt Industries has officially opened its new $US44 million corrugated box factory in Ohio.

The 350,000 sq.ft. facility, built adjacent to Pratt's existing box plant in Lewisburg, is an environmental showpiece for the industry, said company owner Anthony Pratt.

US corrugated box shipments jumped to 30.5 billion square feet (BSF) in July, after adjusting the data for seasonality and working days. This figure was 1.6% higher than the year-ago level, and also the highest monthly figure since May 2013. The strength of shipments in July was somewhat surprising, given the continued decline in industrial production of processed foods during the month. However, all of the industrial production data are subject to revisions going back six months, and the revisions in processed food output tend to be rather significant.
