The AICC 2015 Spring Meeting and 40th Anniversary Celebration will be held April 29-May 1 at The Naples Grande Beach Resort, Naples, FL.   The spring meeting will feature a three-day series of general sessions, workshop tracks, networking and social events. The meeting will also feature the 2nd Annual Independents’ Cup Charity Golf Tournament.

With effect from 1 January 2015 a new managing director will take the reins at KBA Deutschland. Reinhard Marschall (49) succeeds Ramona Weiß-Weber at the helm of Koenig & Bauer's German sales and service subsidiary for sheetfed offset presses. The previous managing director has left the company after three years to pursue new challenges.


Cascades settles with EPA for $165,000 over alleged Clean Water Act violations at Maine pulp mill and Connecticut corrugated plant

Two companies operating under the control of Cascades USA, Inc. have agreed to settle EPA allegations that they violated the federal Clean Water Act. The companies are Cascades Auburn Fiber, operating in Auburn, Maine; and Norampac New England, Inc., operating in Thompson, Conn.


KapStone workers authorize strike at Longview, WA, mill; talks hung up on health care, overtime

LONGVIEW, WA, Dec. 10, 2014 (Local News) -Union pulp mill workers have overwhelmingly authorized a strike against the KapStone Paper & Packaging plant in Longview.

The vote to authorize the strike was 99 percent in favor, Gregory Pallesen, vice president of the Association of Western Pulp & Paper Workers, said Wednesday morning.
