World demand for packaging machinery to reach $41.8 billion in 2017 – Freedonia Group

US OCC prices edge down after passing $230/tonne mark in China

SINGAPORE, Aug. 30, 2013 (PPI Asia) -Prices for US old corrugated containers (OCC) have softened after peaking three weeks ago at $230-232/tonne in China, closing August at $226-228/tonne.

The benchmark grade's levels had kept climbing for almost three months since touching bottom at $200-203/tonne in mid-May.

Menasha to close corrugated sheet plant in Wisconsin as it seeks to maximize operational efficiencies

After 20-plus years in Green Lake, a local plant of Menasha Corp. is closing this fall.

The news was confirmed by a company spokesman who talked with the Commonwealth. The packaging plant is located in the industrial park at 750 South St. in Green Lake, by the intersection with Commercial Avenue.

Employees were told the news Aug. 13, but were informed they had the opportunity to apply to other company plants, such as Neenah and Hartford.
