NEENAH, WI, Dec. 9, 2014 (Press Release) -Menasha Packaging's Lakeville, Minn. facility has been certified by British Retail Consortium (BRC) Global Standards, a leading global safety and quality certification program. The facility achieved "A" grade certification for the BRC Global Standard for Packaging and Packaging Materials.


Current conditions for U.S. containerboard, corrugated boxes and boxboard

U.S. corrugated box shipments increased to 30.9 billion square feet (BSF) in October, after adjusting the data for seasonality and working days. This was the highest monthly figure in two years. Shipments were roughly 3 percent higher than the year-ago level for the second consecutive month, a remarkable achievement since “flat” was the word used most often to describe the box market during the first eight months of the year. Cumulative shipments through October were 0.6 percent higher than the year-ago level.

Corrugated and paperboard box demand in the U.S. is forecasted to increase 2.6 percent per year to $39.4 billion in 2018, improving from the performance of the recession-impacted 2008-2013 period. Gains will be driven by a rebound in manufacturing output and continued expansion of the overall economy.

Powerflute moves sales and marketing operations to Barcelona
