Moody's places Boise Paper's ratings under review for possible upgrade on PCA acquisition

TORONTO, Sept. 16, 2013 (Press Release) -Moody's Investors Service placed the Ba2 corporate family rating (CFR), Ba2-PD probability of default rating (PDR), Ba3 senior unsecured note rating and Baa3 senior secured bank credit facility rating of Boise Paper Holdings, L.L.C. International Paper reveals $100-150 million modernization project at Rome, GA, linerboard mill over three years

ROME, GA, Sept. 17, 2013 (Local News) -At the Rome-Floyd Development authority this morning International Paper announced a significant reinvestment in their plant in Coosa. President of the Greater Rome Chamber of Commerce Al Hodge called it a very significant reinvestment and attorney Andy Davis said the investment will be to the tune of 100 to 150 million dollars.


US containerboard inventories jump 147,000 tons in August to their highest level for the month in eight years

SAN FRANCISCO, Sept. 17, 2013 (RISI) -US box shipments remained sluggish in August and containerboard inventories at box plants and mills jumped by nearly 147,000 tons as mills ran at close to 100% of capacity, according to the latest Fibre Box Assn. and American Forest & Paper Assn statistics released today.

SKG to upgrade recycled containerboard PM 1 at Roermond mill in Netherlands

BRUSSELS, Sept. 17, 2013 (RISI) -Smurfit Kappa Group (SKG) has revealed details of its Euro 40 million ($53 million) investment in its recycled containerboard Roermond mill in the Netherlands.

The firm is set to upgrade its 225,000 tonne/yr PM 1 and fit it with a new rewinder.


Nine Dragons testing new PMs with 650,000 tonnes/yr of recycled containerboard capacity in Fujian, China

SHANGHAI, Sept. 17, 2013 (RISI) -Nine Dragons Paper (Holdings) has started trials runs on two recycled containerboard PMs with a combined capacity of 650,000 tonnes/yr at a greenfield site in Quanzhou city, Fujian province.

Their startup has raised its total recycled containerboard capacity to 9.98 million tonnes/yr.
