DS Smith acquires remaining 50% stake in Italian recycling company Italmaceri

DS Smith announces the acquisition of the remaining 50% of Italian recycling company Italmaceri Srl ("Italmaceri"). DS Smith acquired its existing 50% of Italmaceri as part of the acquisition of SCA Packaging in 2012.

Rengo announces big slowdown in corrugating medium production in Japan

MELBOURNE, Australia, July 18, 2014 (PPI Asia) -Japanese packaging giant Rengo has announced a significant slowdown in the production of corrugating medium in response to the slow domestic market.

In June, its production rates were 25% or 25,000 tonnes below June 2013 levels, and shipments of the grade dipped 15%, or 13,000 tonnes.

SAO PAULO, July 16, 2014 (RISI) -Chilean pulp and paper producer CMPC shut down in April its corrugated board converting plant in Quilicura, near the country's capital Santiago. The company's total corrugated board capacity remains unchanged, though, a spokesperson told RISI.
