Michigan City Paper Box's Al Hoodwin named vice chairman of AICC

Al Hoodwin, president of Michigan City Paper Box, Michigan City, Ind., was named a vice chairman of AICC by the Association’s board of directors at its recent winter board of directors meeting.  As a vice chairman, Hoodwin is a member of the AICC executive committee and is in line to become the association’s chairman in the 2018-2019 membership year.

The revised and final data from the Fibre Box Association (FBA) show that US corrugated box shipments came in at 31.2 billion square feet (BSF) in December, after adjusting the data for seasonality and working days. This was 5.1 percent higher than the year-ago level and marked the highest monthly figure since August 2008.


North American robotics market has strongest year ever in 2014

Robot orders and shipments in North America set new records in 2014, according to Robotic Industries Association (RIA), the industry’s trade group. A total of 27,685 robots valued at $1.6 billion were ordered from North American companies during 2014, an increase of 28% in units and 19% in dollars over 2013.
